6PM: Registrations Closed – Festival Brief is released. Joining us upstairs at the Ritz Cinema to receive you Team Bag. Brief also emailed to all teams.

Start your movie planning. Get some B-Roll, maybe a first few shots. Most important of all, get a great night’s sleep so you’re ready to roll in the morning!

Saturday 14TH SEPT

FILM IT!

Filming Begins! Gather your actors, film in location, and remember your brief.
All Day: Actors On Request and support available at the Ritz.

FILM FILM FILM! EDIT EDIT EDIT!!

Submit your film! Now get some sleep 🙂

Sunday 15th SEPT

Showtime!

6AM: Absolute submission DROPDEAD time.

6PM: Finalist screenings start at the Ritz followed by the Audience Award Voting.

7.30PM: Awards Gala Ceremony begins – Celebrate the your work with multiple Awards and a $1000 Grand Prize! IT COULD BE YOU!!

WHAT IS THE FESTIVAL BRIEF?*

The Brief will be a set of around 20 elements (PLACES, ITEMS & DIALOGUE).

You will need to include 5 of them in your film entry to qualify for the competition.

This is primarily to prove the film has been made for this festival and not recycled.

Two of the the elements to be included must be PLACES.

When entries are completed and lodged, you will need to identify the 5 items used as part of the submission process.

FESTIVAL UPDATE 21/08/24

We’re getting quite a few teams registering!

While our intention has been to play all festival entries on the big screen at the Ritz, it’s becoming clear that cannot happen before the Awards. The current plan is to now show the 15 best entries before the Awards are given out and limit entries to 30 teams. We are in discussions with the Ritz Cinema to extend our booking and allow us to show all the other film entries (including late or non-qualifying entries) AFTER the awards. We will confirm as soon as we know more. All films will of course be available to watch on our YouTube Account!

ENTRY TO THE RITZ FINALS IS FREE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS FOR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND FILM LOVERS.

The only guaranteed seats are for registered team members, who get the coveted back rows in Cinema1.
